It’s been a busy February for us. The Gem and Mineral Shows were fantastic this year. We visited quite a number of shows, met some nice folks, and generally had a great time. February has been a strange weather month. It has been below normal and raining for most of the month now. The bad weather has kept up close to town. On a recent trip to the Airport Site, we encountered a nice piece containing Bryozoans, a piece of gravel with some well-preserved coral, and a nice Gastropod in cross section. We are working diligently to complete an exhibit for the Trex museum, look for that to be on display at the museum by the end of March. Be sure and drop into the museum and checkout some real Southern Arizona Fossils, as well as some high resolution images of other fossils from all over Southern Arizona. The Trex Museum is a great place for kids of all ages. We’ll be posting a lower resolution version of the exhibit on the Web Site when it is completed. As the weather warms, we’ll be collecting images from several areas South and East of Tucson, so look for a lot more updates in March. We are attempting our first thin section, and will have that completed soon as well. We are thin sectioning a piece of coral from Snyder Hill. It should make an interesting image. I hope everyone reading this message is having a safe and wonderful year, Happy Trails, Walter Farmer www.safossils.com
